Dr. Abby Oostendorp

Dr. Abby Oostendorp completed her doctoral program at William James College in Newton, MA. She earned her BA in psychology from the University of New Hampshire. Dr. Oostendorp completed her predoctoral internship at the Dr. Leon O. Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment and Consultation in Newton, MA, where she conducted neuropsychological assessments and testing for individuals and families regarding a variety of diagnostic questions, including: autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, fetal alcohol syndrome, trauma and stressor-related disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, psychosis, and behavioral regulation challenges. She is now working to complete her post-doctoral fellowship here at Newton Neuropsychology Group.


Dr. Oostendorp’s training has allowed her to work with people across the lifespan in a variety of treatment settings in the greater Boston area, including neuropsychological assessment clinics, community health centers, residential settings, and private practices. This training has involved neuropsychology testing, as well as individual and group therapy. Therapeutically, Dr. Oostendorp has developed an integrated and evidence-based style with a focus on a person-centered approach. Across all settings, Dr. Oostendorp is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges and work towards personal goals.
 

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling, being active, and spending time with family and friends.
