Angelina Awad

Angelina "Angie" Awad is a 5th year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Candidate at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. She earned her BS in Neuroscience from Stonehill College in 2019 and went on to work as a research assistant  administering neuropsychological tests in a research capacity at the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at the Brockton VA and Harvard Medical School for clinical studies on schizophrenia and bipolar disorder with psychosis. It was through this research experience that she zeroed in on her passion for clinical work and went on to pursue her Ph.D. at Suffolk. She earned her MS in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk in 2023 through the completion of her Masters' thesis on COVID-19 anxiety and social support. Currently, her research interests center exploring emotion and emotion regulation in a culturally-informed and intentional way.

Angie's training has so far consisted of extensive assessment training, ranging from psychodiagnostic assessments at McLean Hospital's OCD Institute (OCDI) to traditional neuropsychological evaluations at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center (BIDMC). Along with her experience with exposure therapy from OCDI, last year, she completed a full therapeutic training year at Bentley University where she honed in on her therapeutic style. Angie has worked with a large range of concerns ranging from depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), adjustment concerns, and identity formation work. She works more commonly with the adult population and describes her approach in both a therapeutic and assesssment capacity as warm, compassionate, and collaborative. She often employs an ACT and DBT approach to her cases, though will always center her client's needs.

Outside of her professional work, Angie enjoys volunteering in her community, rallying herself to go to her yoga practices, making incredibly niche Spotify playlists, and trying left-field baking recipes.
